Postcrossing
i just found a lovely thing on MetaFilter called Postcrossing. You sign up, get an random address and mail a postcard to the address, you then get a postcard from some random person in the World, what a simple, cool idea. i love selfless acts designed to bring smiles (:
i just sent this nice postcard to someone in Finland.
i think is is called Postcrossing because it is based on BookCrossing, another lovely idea. You leave books you have read in public places for people to find and read. i did this anyway and was pleasantly surprised to find it had a worldwide following.
