The wind in your hair

i love bike riding, gliding through the city. My Dad used to pop my on his handlebars when i was a kid, although a wee bit uncomfortable i did like it, i think i may have got my love for bike riding from this. i wish when i was even younger the Taga stroller/trike had been around.

That just seems like a lot of fun for a kid. (:

More Postcard fun

postcard.fm pic

i found this really nice site/service called postcard.fm.

Postcard.fm lets you create an audio postcards for free. You upload a picture then pick an audio file. You can upload your own or just use the search. i searched for "More than This" and it found it, just clicked the plus button and it was added, i don't know where they stream it from but it's cool, it worked fine. You then put in the address you want to send it to, click Preview, put in your e-mail address and click send. They don't get an e-mail with the pic and audio file attached, they get a very simpler text e-mail saying:

Hey! *your e-mail* has sent you an audio postcard. You can get it here: http://postcard.fm/77f0f2ap

You can see from the pic what the page looks like, it's a nice clean layout, i think it's a lovely service. i suppose this is my postcard to you (:

Found this floating around the internet (:

Postcrossing

i just found a lovely thing on MetaFilter called Postcrossing. You sign up, get an random address and mail a postcard to the address, you then get a postcard from some random person in the World, what a simple, cool idea. i love selfless acts designed to bring smiles (:

i just sent this nice postcard to someone in Finland.

i think is is called Postcrossing because it is based on BookCrossing, another lovely idea. You leave books you have read in public places for people to find and read. i did this anyway and was pleasantly surprised to find it had a worldwide following.

the friendliness of crowds

found this on reddit today, posted by csdoubleyou and i thought i would use his text in the post as it says it all:

This man with autism, who was chosen to sing the national anthem, got a case of the giggles half way through. Listen to what the crowd does to support him.

Remember Google Spell (make messages with google images). Well i found a another brilliant one on reddit:

geoGreeting

This one uses building, land shapes and other things on Google Earth's satellite view to spell out messages, very clever. Even better it gives you a URL where you message can be seen.

Speaking of the tube, i found this happy pic on flickr by lomokev, made me smile. Be sure to check out his other stuff... happy, quirky, funny and just plain ACE. Defiantly one of the best photographers on flickr.

That smile in the middle of all those faces is excellent. (:

pass it forward

nicetie tokeni found a nice article on Londonist:

Interview: Liz Akers of Team Nice

Liz, one day on the way to work, on the bus saw a lady giving the driver a hard time. At the next stop the driver didn't stop for someone running for the bus. Seeing how bad feeling gets passed around she had the idea of "passing niceness around London" in the form of "nicetie token".

Once you get one (for doing something nice) you can go to Team Nice and join. When you see someone doing something nice, you give them the token. See, passing nice around. (:

badge picAlso in the article is a link to "I'm up for a chat on the tube", wear a badge on the tube/bus/train to indicate you are "up for a chat". i bet some nice friendships have come from that.

Photoshop Online Video Podcast

Found a lovely new Video Podcast on ScobleShow.com RSS feed called:

Photoshop Online Video Podcast RSS feed

In each episode Jan Kabili gives easy to follow lessons on Photoshop. Things like, how to make a black & white image from a color one (i thought that was easy), how to sharpen an image, good sepia tones. I loved 04 Neutral Density. If you own Photoshop then i recommend you subscribe to this, you won't be sorry.

Juan Mann, with his friend Christiana Christodoulou, in Sydney started giving out free hugs on the street. Returning from London he thought "everyone was miserable" so started the "Free Hugs Campaign". What an ACE way to cheer people up.

JET SET SHOW   (feed)

Well we all got to go some day and look what i found on Boing Boing.

biodegradable hand woven willow coffins from a company called "The Somerset Willow Company" (how nice is that name). I also heard about "Woodland Burials" once. When you are buried instead of a gravestone, a tree is planted to mark your grave, eventually the graveyard becomes a woodland, very clever.

silly fun, i would end up in the "South Pacific Ocean" just SouthEast off, "New Zealand".

Nice init, but let me tell ya bout the smiley faces. First off i didn't do um, i just went on google and put in "smiley", looked on the image bit and found this pic:

as you can see it's the pic i used so later on i went back to the site so i could give credit for the picture. When i first went there i just right clicked on the pic and downloaded it, not even knowing what it was a picture of. When i went back i found it was a picture of Kippahs (the little caps that Jews wear). How nice are they. i always knew the Jews had a sense of humor but these are brilliant (: There are loads of other designs on the site.
